A Ministry of Defence (MoD) training facility has been closed due to fire damage.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service firefighters were called to the Lydd Army Training Facility on Wednesday 5 October at 4pm.
Eight fire engines and support vehicles attended the two-storey building, with 50 firefighters tackling the blaze. Firefighters left the scene at just before 9.15am the following morning (Thursday 6 October).
The fire created a large amount of smoke and people living in New Romney and the surrounding area were advised to close windows and doors.
The MoD said the building on the site is still closed and it is unknown when it will reopen. Investigations are continuing in to how the fire started.
