Massive fire at £50m Salford development

Crews were called to the Radclyffe Park site, in Ordsall, Salford, by residents who had spotted flames coming from the building site at 1am.
The fire was prevented from spreading to neighbouring developments, which include a Morrisons supermarket and a Travelodge hotel.
No injuries were reported but 30 houses were temporarily evacuated as a safety precaution.
LPC Living and Russells Construction, who are responsible for the site, said a full investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway ...

50 firefighters tackle factory blaze in Denton

Around 50 fire fighters are battling a blaze at an industrial estate in Bredbury.

Crews were called to the Cromwell Grove Trading Estate off Stockport Road around 10.30am this morning after a fire broke out at a commercial premises there.

The building, thought to belong to a fancy goods import company, has been completely engulfed in fire.

Fire crews, using seven engines and two hydraulic platforms, are expected to be at the scene for the rest of the day as ...
